Denisse was raised in a family of runners, Denisse Ruiz developed a profound appreciation for movement and running as essential elements of life. Having learned to cherish the act of running and its positive impact, Denisse holds the belief that running is a deeply personal experience. She emphasizes that some days may be faster or involve longer distances, while others may simply be about enjoying a leisurely walk. Denisse sees the beauty in the diversity of movement.
Even though Denisse was exposed to running from a very young age, it wasn't until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that she found herself conquering the distance and running her first half, then her first full, and after that, her first 50k. Despite a couple of health issues that have hindered her ability to run as much as she wishes, Denisse has continued her running journey. She has expressed that she cannot stay away from running for a long period because it brings her a sense of sadness.
For the race her main goal is to help other people get to the finish line, doing the best for them to get there by keeping them motivated and engaged she would like to play some music to make things fun and easier.

Ken S. - 3:30 pacer
Ken got his first taste of running with his high school cross country team. He quickly fell in love with the sport, and the great friendships that it fosters. Although running took a back seat to ‘the real world’ for most of the next 15 years, he returned full force in 2012. Running had been that missing piece (and peace) in life! On April 15, 2013 at the Boston Marathon finish line, running became the single most important thing for him. He struggled afterwards dealing with the inner demons from that experience, but emerged stronger than ever and more committed to the sport and its’ incredible community. He vowed to run more miles, in more places, and with more of the global running family. Yet even that promise was challenged in 2015 when he was nearly killed in a hit and run while cycling. Although all sense of normalcy was lost as a result of that crash and the resulting TBI, Ken could still run… and so he did, without a single day off since early 2016!
These days you can find Ken hitching his way to races around the world. With 100+ halves and 100+ marathons completed, covering all 50 states and a dozen countries (including the World Marathon Majors)… you never know where you will find Ken running next!
He much prefers pacing to racing, and has paced 75+ races in the past few years. He knows you can’t set your own PR every day, but that you can lead someone else to theirs *every* day! He believes we all have an innate inner strength we haven’t yet scratched the surface of, and is committed to leading others to discovering that strength, plus the growth and PRs that follow! He is excited to have the opportunity to run with all of you - to celebrate our sport, our incredible running community and enjoy some incredible miles together!

Words to describe ultrarunners include masochistic, sadistic, obsessive compulsive, freak, and superhuman. Tyler describes himself as an ordinary ultrarunner. His family and friends see him as just plain crazy. They are perplexed by his desire to voluntarily subject his mind and body to the physical and mental challenges of 50-mile, 100-mile, 100k, and 24-hour ultra events. Sarah T. - 5:10 pacer
Sarah started running April 1st, 2016 to lose some weight and feel better about herself. She soon learned that running not only made her feel better about herself, but about her life in general! After her first Half Marathon in May of 2016 - She was hooked. She has completed numerous races of all distances up to full marathons. What she lacks in speed she makes up with love of the sport! She can't wait to help encourage others to meet their goals and convince more people to join the running world!

Theneshia G. - 5:20 pacer
As a retired U.S Army veteran, Theneshia "T" has been involved in running for many years; however, she didn't do her first long distance race until 2006. In 2006, her neighbor asked her to join in on doing the "˜CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Half Marathon' in Baltimore, MD. Without proper training for a half marathon and lacking a real understanding of running efficiency, she completed the race and fell in love with the excitement and energy around organized races!!! It was at that very moment that T realized she wanted to become more serious about running and to challenge herself to complete more long-distance races, with proper training. T knew at that moment she wanted to transition from just "˜RUNNING' to being a "˜RUNNER.'
Since her first half marathon in 2006, she has completed countless half marathons (including 13.1 in all 50 States Finisher), 5Ks, 10Ks, RAGNARs, Army Ten Milers, 1 -30k, and three ultramarathons ( 2 x 50k, and 1 x 50 miler - infamous JFK 50 miler; 2 x 51 milers). She decided she wanted to be a pacer when she realized it brings absolute DELIGHT and JOY to her heart to be a part of helping others achieve their goals. It's not about her, it's about YOU! For some, running goes deeper than the surface of just running. We never know what spiritual, emotional, mental, or physical barriers a runner may truly be trying to overcome or personal goal they want to achieve. But whatever it may be, T desires to do her part in helping them tear down those barriers and reach those goals while on the pavement! Loyal-T #JourneyTo1Percent Phil4:13

Aimee H. - 5:45 pacer
In 2003 Aimee set her New Year's resolution to run a full marathon and signed up for the Chicago Marathon. After the unbelieve feeling of not only running the race but crossing the finish line she was hooked for life. Over the years she has ran over 60 half marathons, 14 full marathons, and numerous other races. It was not until 2018 that she became interested in pacing and has paced a full and half marathon. Aimee has her heart set on qualifying for Boston in 2019 and is currently working hard to make it happen. Aimee enjoys the company of other runners and hearing what inspires them to run. Aimee says "Running a marathon is one thing helping others cross the finish line is well indescribable" Strategy : Have fun, consistent pace, walk through aid stations, and high energy ! My motto your body can do amazing things finishing a marathon is very mental you just have to tell yourself you can in fact do it and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
