Jimmy M. - 1:30 pacer
Jimmy has been an avid racer in both triathlons and marathons for the past 10 years. He is motivated to run by his appetite for fast food and by the friendly competitiveness he shares with his twin brother. Jimmy has completed numerous half-Ironmans, long distance triathlons, and marathons. His favorite accomplishment was finishing the 2007 Wisconsin Ironman. He has paced a half marathon and a full marathon, so he knows the importance of following the SmartPacing Strategy. Chris has run 42 marathons and about twice that many halfs, including pacing for 4 marathons and 15 halfs. He enjoys distance running because it's excellent practice in not quitting, and entering marathons is good motivation for staying in shape.
For Chris as with most geezers, the idea of starting slow is appealing, and the Smartpacing strategy is a lot more enjoyable than running dead even splits. The challenge will be to see how many laughs can be generated the last part of the race.

After running throughout high school, David took several years off from running but has enjoyed racing again over the past few years. He has run about a dozen half marathons, one marathon, and even tried out triathlons. Having a race to train for and look forward to is the biggest motivator for David. In his opinion, half marathons are the ideal racing distance, and he's excited to help you reach your half marathon goals!

Scott is a veteran of 9 marathons, over 40 half-marathons, and 82 triathlons including an Ironman. He is a 2013 All-American Triathlete. He has paced 20+ races with SmartPacing. From that pacing experience, Scott is convinced the Smart Pacing Strategy is the best method for getting the most runners to beat their pace goal and to have the best race experience.

Kelly D. - 1:40 pacer
Kelly was a competitive swimmer growing up and swam competitively in college at the University of Kansas. After college, Kelly began running and competing in triathlons. She is an All-American triathlete and really enjoys pacing running events and helping individuals reach their race day goals. Last year, Kelly paced the Kansas City marathon (3:40 pace) and the Lawrence 1/2 marathon (1:40 pace) and brought her teams in just under their goal times.

Pam coaches cross country and track at Park Hill South High School in Riverside, MO and loves to share her passion for running with her athletes. One of the most rewarding outcomes of running is to help others reach their goals, and Pam is looking forward to help you reach your goal. Brandon S. - 1:45 pacer
Brandon has been an avid runner ever since he discovered the sport during his sophomore year of high school. This passion has lead him to run 2 marathons (Lincoln 2004 and Colorado 2011), 15k's, 10k's and numerous 5k's. Brandon has recently has recharged his enthusiasm with running to strive to achieve new heights he never ever thought were possible. In September of 2012, Brandon completed the North Face Endurance Challenge 50 Miler in Wisconsin in 8 hours and 30 minutes. It remains his most proudest running achievement to date. Living in Papillion Nebraska, Brandon continues to foster the love of the sport now as a Half-Marathon Pacer. He has paced over 10+ times using the SmartPacing Strategy. He knows his high energy, outgoing personality, and fun spirit will lead everyone to their goals on race day. Brandon can't wait to be a part of your PR experience.

Brian is a recreational runner that enjoys the act of running as much as racing. A tenacious high school coach finally convinced him to try the sport his senior year and it stuck. Brandon was never a runner in high school or college, rather football was his sport of choice. However, after running his first half marathon and crossing the finish line at 2:02, Brandon became hooked! Running became his new passion and the challenge of finding ways to become a better, more efficient runner became the motivation for his training. The thrill of the competition and camaraderie within the community at each race continually keeps him coming back for more. Through running, Brandon was given another opportunity in life to be active and be competitive, set and break goals, and to meet a great community of individuals who find enjoyment in being a runner. Robert started running in high school cross country but took several years off after that. He began running again just a couple years ago and since then has ran 8 Marathons and 11 Half's. He contributes most if his success to his long time training partners, "they get me up and get me motivated" He said, "We log a LOT of miles together and frankly I would never have gotten anywhere without them". He knows that the people around you in training AND a race can greatly increase your performance and he hopes to get you to your goal too.

Holly has always loved running! She ran her first half marathon in 2002 and her first marathon was the 2009 Kansas City Marathon, where she qualified for, and ran, the 2010 Boston Marathon. She has since run several more half's and 2 more full marathons. She was selected by Saucony in 2013 to be part of the 26Strong team as a veteran runner. She coached her friend through her first marathon. Their journey was documented in Competitor and Women's Running magazine and online. Chad got into running after his first of two ACL surgeries. His goal with any race is to finish and have a good time doing it. Chad's racing history is marked with half marathons, marathons, Ironman 70.3s (Half Ironman) and he completed his first full distance Ironman in 2010.

Stephanie loves to run - and she loves to cheer people on to do their best. Put these two things together, and it only makes sense that Stephanie loves to pace! She has been running for over 15 years, and just recently finished her 20th full marathon. She has qualified for and run the Boston Marathon, as well as too many half marathons to count. Stephanie's philosophy on pacing is to give her pace group tips and encouragement, conversation, fun...and a little bit of tough love to get you to the finish line.

Amanda Z. - 2:15 pacer
Amanda is a former collegiate soccer player who, until recently, would never have thought she would run "for fun" more than the staple 3/4 miles a few times a week. In the summer of 2010, she joined a friend on her training runs as her friend prepared for her first marathon. In doing so, Amanda discovered she was able to run distances beyond her previous measures and took great joy in setting new personal goals of her own. She was motivated to run her first 1/2 marathon in the fall of 2010, her first marathon in March 2011, qualify for Boston in June 2011, and participated in many other races in between. Through these endeavors she met numerous runners who graciously supported and encouraged her along the journey. She hopes to pass this along to others by helping them meet their running goals while having a fun and rewarding experience.

Stephen L. - 2:20 pacer
Stephen picked up running in 2010 after realizing that two little curtain climbers needed their dad to be able to romp and play instead of sitting on the couch eating potato chips. Inspired by his brother who had also achieved great health results via running, he trained and completed his first 10k at the TLC Groundhog in January 2011. Since then he has run 5ks, 10ks, 10 mile trail, 20 mile trail, 50K trail, 44 miler at Brew2Brew multiple times, a bunch of full marathons, countless half marathons, sprint and international distance triathlon along with an ironman distance in 2014. His first marathon was the MO Cowbell in St. Charles, MO. His half marathon PR came in 2013, which was run purely for fun. The social and all inclusive aspect of running and multi-sport is what keeps Stephen going so don't be surprised if you end up run BFF's by the time your race is over. Stephen has plans to complete more trail runs, marathons, and half marathon pacing.

Renea M. - 2:20 pacer
Renea has completed 17 marathons and 16 half marathons. Her personal best marathon time was 4:07 and half marathon time was 1:53. Renea's goal for running races is to run efficiently and make the race a positive experience. To accomplish this goal she utilizes the SmartPacing method. She will start the race with a warm up and then settle into a goal pace for her group. Renea will always walk through each aid station to allow enough time to properly hydrate. She will also tackle hills by slowing down a little on the ups and picking up the pace going downs. Renea will get you across the finish line just under her pacing time and will make your race a fun experience.

Brian B. - 2:25 pacer
Brian ran his first 1/2 marathon in the 2009 Kansas City race and stayed to watch a friend finish the full. The thought began with "Hey, I should be able to do this." So he signed up and completed his first full at the Bass Pro Marathon just 2 weeks later! Since then Brian has either run or paced numerous half & full marathons. His latest accomplishment was finishing the Western States 100 mile Endurance Run.
He enjoys the company of fellow runners and continues to be amazed at the accomplishments/success stories of other runners. You just never know who in your pace group is going to share a personal story that inspires you. Brian believes that running with the group and having the camaraderie provides a distraction from the sometimes experienced or perceived "pain". The more fun we have, the less we will notice the mile markers flying by.

Vita-Roxanne J. - 2:25 pacer
Vita-Roxanne grew up watching her mother run and now follows in her footsteps. She took up running in 2011 to get back into shape after having her second child and has not stopped since. Vita started out running a variety of 5k's and 10k's but she soon stepped up to her favorite race distance, the half marathon. Since running her first half marathon in 2012, Vita has completed 8 half marathons. She completed the 39.3 series in 2014 followed by the Hospital Hill Run and still managed a PR of sub 2 at the Garmin Half. With the support of her husband and 2 children she has also completed the Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2 years in a row and is currently in preparation for her next full marathon in 2015. Vita absolutely lives to run, and though she is new to pacing, she is eager to help others achieve their race goals just like so many have done for her. Vita is uplifting and encouraging and strongly believes that if she can do it you can too! She is ready to help you make this race YOUR RACE!

Cristal LOVES pacing any distance from 5K to 26.2. A fitness instructor & born optimist, Cristal loves to run at a conversational pace, enjoying a walk break through each water station, with enough time to thank volunteers and high-five as many cheering kids along the course as possible. She believes anyone can run a half or full marathon with the right attitude and a little ambition, you've just got to run Smart & keep going. Her personal goal is to complete her 50 states by her 50th birthday (33 down, 17 to go!), and to eventually run just fast enough to BQ. Amanda has been running for most of her life. From 5Ks, to triathlons, to a 50K, Amanda has always enjoyed the social aspect of running and working out with friends. With her husband as a built-in running partner, and her daughter along for the shorter runs, Amanda has completed eight marathons, many half marathons and plans to continue running for many years to come.

Melissa started running on Mother's Day 2012, and hasn't looked back since. Melissa runs long on Saturday mornings, changing locations throughout the city, and always enjoys a good cup of coffee afterwards. She cross trains several days a week, and really enjoys yoga and CrossFit. Since starting to run she has completed 35 half marathons, and countless shorter distance races. She is an active member of KC Express, and a Half Fanatic (#4222). Look for her at local races and be sure to say hello.

While always physically active, Mary did not become a long distance runner until after the age of 40. She set a goal to run a full marathon as a “bucket list” item and in the process discovered a passion for running. She has now completed 14 full marathons and over 20 half marathons. She enjoys being in the company of other runners and encouraging them to achieve their goals. Mary’s hope is that you complete the race by not only meeting your goal, but also having fun in the process!

Katrina has always loved playing team sports but decided to start running in 2008. She ran her first marathon in 2009 and uses marathons, and half marathons, as a way to vacation to new places across the country. She has also participated in a few sprint triathlons, trail runs and finished her 1st 50k in the fall. She is a certified running coach that works with a local women's group to encourage them to get active and healthy. Whatever the distance, and whatever the pace, she enjoys the fellowship of running with other people.

Sueann has been a runner with Runner's Edge for the past 8 years. She has paced 8 half marathons and 5 marathons. With the encouragement of her oldest son, she started running at the age of 53. Since then she has run 13 marathons, 14 half marathons, and 1 ultra marathon. The variety of runs includes the “Goofy” run in Orlando and the Dublin Ireland Marathon. She believes in the Smart Pace method which includes a slow start for the first 2-3 miles; running a mile than walking a minute; walking through aid stations; going slow up hills, and increasing speed down the hill. She also believes running should be a fun and long lasting hobby.

Cynthia S. - 2:45 pacer
Cynthia has been a pace group leader for The Runner's Edge for 10 years. By employing the SmartPace strategy, Cynthia has successfully completed more than 40 marathons (which includes serving as a pacer for KC in 2007-2015; Hospital Hill in 2009-2015; Olathe in 2008-2015; Rock the Parkway 2010-2015; and Lincoln, Neb. 2011-2013, as well as others); two ultra road runs (31 miles x2), 10 ultra trail runs (50 miles, 40 miles, 44 miles x2, 38 miles, and 31 miles x5), the Lake Tahoe Triple and many halves.
She was awarded the Road Runner's Club of America Grand Master Award for her finish in the 2010 Brew-to-Brew solo. Cynthia believes running comes from the head, the heart and the gut. She works with her group to use all those to your advantage. And she really enjoys encouraging others to do what they've never done before -- to run farther, to run faster or just to run! And having fun is the best part of it all.
Her strategy is to go out slow for the first 2-3 miles, run a mile and then walk a minute, walk through the aid stations for up to a minute, go very slow up hills and make up the time on the down hills while making sure you have even effort breathing the whole time.

Thomas lives in Lenexa KS. A Husker fan originally from Nebraska, Thomas has been running for most of his life! As a member of Runner's Edge, Thomas has participated in multiple different marathons as well as half marathon events all throughout the Midwest, stretching even as far as San Diego and Utah! Thomas is committed to helping other people accomplish their individual racing goals through a combination of SmartPace and Run Walk!

Chris paced her first race last year and fell in love with it-and she is pacing more races in 2015 than she is racing. She knows everyone works hard to achieve goals they have set, and wants to help her pace group achieve theirs. If you are in her pace group, you can count on lots of encouragement and spirit. You might also hear some off-key singing and see some awkward dancing, but expect to have fun! Chris has run multiple races ranging from 5K's to 50K's.

Shannon has been running for over 10 years. She has completed 30+ half marathons and 7 marathons. She is a busy mom of 2 young girls and enjoys helping other runners achieve their goals. In addition to running, she enjoys training for triathlons, yoga and traveling.

Britney began running in 2010 and has loved it ever since! She has run several 5k's, a few 10k's, half marathons, and a couple of full marathons. Even though running is her favorite activity, she likes to mix it up every once in awhile by throwing in a triathlon occasionally. In the future she hopes to travel more to participate in races across the country. Jen caught the running bug in 2007 after completing her first half marathon. Since then she has ran countless half marathons and 2 full marathons. She is also studying to obtain her ACE Personal Trainer Certification. Her inspiration comes from her sister’s death from type 1 diabetes. Now she uses her knowledge to inspire others to start running. Her goal is to encourage and help other runners reach their goal and have fun doing it. Her motto is “I run because I CAN!”

Sharon started running after having 3 kids and was “smitten” by the marathon bug. Sharon has completed 13 marathons (her favorite marathons are the NY marathon and the Chicago Marathon), 2 twenty mile plus races (her absolute favorite race was in Big Sur, CA when she completed the 21 miler by the ocean – her plan is to go back to complete the Big Sur Marathon Spring 2016 when she turns 50), more than 80 half marathons locally and across the country, and is a member of both the Half Fanatics and Marathon Maniacs national running clubs. She looks forward to helping others their goals and possibly sharing the thrill of crossing the finish line with those that are new to running half marathons. Sharon uses a run/walk strategy which will allows for a fun, comfortable, strong finish.

Scotty J. - 3:05 pacer
Inspired by her marathoner daughter and motivated by a MS diagnosis and wheelchair in her past, Scotty started running in January 2008. She just completed her 39th half marathon. Yes, that means the Inaugural Longview Half Marathon will be number 40! She has also completed 5 marathons and a spattering of 5 and 10 K's. Her goal this year has been to log more miles and continue to have fun doing it. Scotty was fortunate to meet the best pacers on the planet the first time she ran Hospital Hill Run. That experience with Janice and Kelly continues to motivate and inspire especially on the "today is not a good running day" days. Scotty has the honor of being a former Hospital Hill Run Hero and after that experience was bitten by the pacer bug. She will use every idea in the Magic Pacer Bag of Tricks to help you cross the finish line. Not being a speedster herself, Scotty recognizes and understands the unique challenges faced by "back-of-the-packers". The goal is not just to finish, but to recognize and take pride in the individual accomplishment. And, have a GREAT time doing it!

Jenni G. - 3:30 pacer
Jenni has been running marathons since 2005 and pacing since 2006. She has run over 45 marathons in 32 states and is an ironman. She is currently a member of the Impalas, a San Francisco based women's elite development team. She is originally from Chicago and has been a massage therapist for 8 years. Besides running and massage, some other passions are music, cooking vegan food, being outside, and traveling. She loves being around runners and people who can make her laugh. Ready to help you get to that finish line on race day!

Scott started running several years ago as a new challenge and way to stay fit. He runs all distances from 5K to marathon as well as triathlons from Sprint to full Ironman but seems to find himself doing marathons the most. As your pacer you can expect very consistent splits and a well planned race.

Jeff started running later in life with the goal of improved fitness and weight loss. When short road races were not enough, the first half was completed in 2009. The obsession with running was now on.
To date Jeff has completed 33 marathons/ultras, including 4 50k and 1 50 miler.

Adam "loves" waking up to run at 2:00am to get long runs in on weekdays before work. He has run 75+ marathons and ultramarathons so far and has a lot of "fun" doing them! He is often questioned by his view of "fun" and sometimes thinks they might be right...until about two days after the last race when he is ready to do it again!
He has paced the Olathe Marathon twice, Lincoln Marathon, and Kansas City Marathon and has finished under the goal time each time. He loves the SmartPace Strategy and the thrill of pacing someone to help them meet their goal at the marathon.

Wael has been running since 2008. He has completed several ultra trail races, several half marathons and full marathons. He enjoys trail running with the Kansas City Trail Nerds. Wael completed two 100 mile ultra runs with a sub-24 hour finish in Feb, 2014.

Raj is an avid runner who has run marathons, half-marathons, and triathlons.
In addition to formal events, Raj enjoys running with runners of different paces and capabilities in training running groups. While a regular runner, Raj also swims and bikes regularly. As a pacer, Raj is excited to help others achieve their goals and most importantly enjoy their race.

TJ B. - 4:15 pacer
In 2011, after 15 years of smoking, T.J. decided he needed to make a change. He decided to change his addiction to long distance running. It didn't take long before he was completely hooked. He has completed 7 full marathons and 12 half marathons. He is new to the pacing world and really loves helping motivating people to reach their goals. T.J. also organizes a running group in Liberty, MO on Wednesday nights.

Danny M. - 4:30 pacer
Danny began running marathons with the 2005 Chicago Marathon and has completed more than 50 marathons and ultra-marathons since then—including two 100-mile races. He also once ran 120 miles of a 200 mile race, but quit once he realized 200 miles was a long way.
He tends to believe in having fun during a race while getting you to the finish line in mostly one piece. So, expect random trivia, pointless stories and occasional costume when running with him.
Danny recently got his son Toby to sign up for his first marathon. Unfortunately, Toby has had some difficulty with the training plan—sitting in a stroller for four hours is exhausting.

Emma picked up running in 2011 during law school as a way to stay active, and has been hooked ever since. She recently ventured into the world of ultrarunning, but the marathon is still her favorite distance. As someone who has benefited greatly from good training partners, racing buddies, and pacers, she loves pacing to help others reach their goal times.

Mike P. - 4:45 pacer
Mike started to get serious about his running by completing his first Half Marathon at the Kansas City Marathon in 2007. He found he enjoyed the challenge and completed his first Marathon in 2008. Mike's wife, Kelly, introduced him to pacing and he found he really liked to help people achieve their goals. Mike has paced several Half and Full Marathons using the Smart Pacing strategy.

Mike has completed 128 marathons in 39 different states. His past pacing experiences have included the Kansas City Marathon, the Lincoln Marathon and the Olathe Marathon. Mike is passionate about sharing his many running experiences with others and supporting all marathoners in doing their personal best.

Steve H. - 5:00 pacer
Steve picked up running in 2009 as a way to practice healthy habits and was soon hooked. His favorite race is Hospital Hill because it is a great course and really puts you to the test. Steve has paced 7 marathons (including Kansas City twice) and 8 half marathons. He will never stop encouraging the runners in his group because HIS goal is helping you reach YOUR goal. He strongly believes in running at 'even effort' using Smart Pacing in order to help his group run their best race possible.

Ken F. - 5:15 pacer
Ken started running for fitness and recreation in college and completed his first marathon in 1980. He intended to run his second in the fall of 1983 but medical school ended up taking more time than he thought. 25 years later, he decided to make priorities instead of excuses and has now finished 181 marathons, including at least one in every state. He has also earned titanium/10-star status in Marathon Maniacs 3 years in a row by completing at least 52 in 52 weeks, qualifying him for the Hall of Fame. He practices SmartPacing principles in his own training/racing and in mentoring his son (who has been a Half Fanatic since he was 10 and Marathon Maniac since he was 12). Ken has paced 57 marathons in 33 states. Remind him to teach you the "Runner's World" knot and your shoes will never come untied during a race again.

Kelly P. - 5:15 pacer
Kelly has been pacing half and full marathons since 2009. She follows the Smart Pacing philosophy - starting out slow to warm up, taking it easy on the uphills, taking advantage of the downhills, and walking through every aid station to fully hydrate. She is fully focused on helping each runner achieve their race goal while having fun along the way. Her goal is to have her runners cross the finish line ahead of her with a smile on their face!

Tom has been running since Spring of 1978, running marathons March 9th, 1986, and pacing 2004. He has paced 15 marathons.
His love outside of running is reading, which he does as often as he can. Being a son of a chef, he enjoys cooking.
He became a vegetarian in 1977 and a vegan in 1994. He watches his sugar and salt intake carefully. Being a runner it is very challenging, since at times he needs to alter and take in more.
The love of his life are his 4 kids, his cats. Yes, they are spoiled, but very loving. Without them life would be very lonely. 50M PR: 9:02. 24 Hour Run PR: 107 Miles.

Kirby S. - 5:30 pacer
Kirby has run 14 marathons and many half marathons. He started running about 5 years ago just to lose weight. What he discovered was a real passion for running. Just like many others, he started with a 5k and worked his way up the ladder until he completed his first marathon. He has passed his love for running on to his family. He ran with his wife in her first half (Kansas City) and full (Disney) marathons. He is really looking forward to pacing in many marathons and spreading his enthusiasm for running with others.
